3rd Kolonnawa Chess Classic 2017
Open International Rating Chess Championship
On behalf of the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka and FIDE, the Kolonnawa Chess Club is organizing the Kolonnawa Chess Classic 2017, an Open International Rating Chess Championship, with a total prize fund of nearly Rs. 350,000/= in cash and other attractive awards. The event will be played according to the Swiss System in 9 rounds from 8th to 12th December 2017 at CMC Reception hall, Colombo 05.

Venue: CMC Reception hall, Colombo 05 (In front of Narahenpita Railway Station.)
The rest of the Games are at Parakramabahu Vidyalya Main Hall, in front of venue.

7th December - Arrival
8th December – from 4.00 – 1st Round
9th to 12th December - Rounds 2 to 8
12th Dec – 5.30 – 8.30 Blitz event & PDF
13th December evening  - PDF
13thDecember - Departure (There will be a 10th round on 13th December morning if the number of entries exceeds 400.)

(If any under 6 or 7 players wins under 8 prize, he will be eligible for it. But only one prize is given to a player. If a player is not present during the 30 minutes given after  the publishing of final result for giving players choice, the highest money prize will be awarded for him.)
All participants will be provided with certificates.

Accommodation: All foreign players with the ELO rating of 2200 or more will be provided accommodation with food. Players with rating between 2000 – 2200 will be given accommodation only. Anyone needing A/C Accommodation should pay USD 200 for the period.
 All other foreign players are charged with 120 USD per person for normal accommodation only.

Travel Grant
GMs, IMs, WGMs, WIMs having more than 2300 rating will be given a travel grant of Rs. 12,000/=

Entry Fee
All title players (WFM/ FM and above) and players having a rating of above 2200 ELO are free.
Rating category 1900 - 2200 :Rs. 2,000/=
Rating category 1500 - 1900: Rs.2,500/=
Rating category less than 1500 : Rs. 3,000/=
Unrated players :Rs. 4,000/=
All local players will be registered with the CFSL for 2018 with the complements of the organizer.
All participants will be given a desk Calendar with including Major CFSL events. Blitz tournament is free for all participants.
Those who have 2 or more players from the same family may contact the organizers for discounts.

Normal Entry fee will be charged till 6th December 2017.
Late fee of Rs. 500/= will be charged for the entries received after 6.00 p.m. on 6th Dec. 2017.

The 5th Sri Lanka Chess Grand Prix 2017

The 5th  Sri Lanka Chess Grand Prix 2017

The 5th Sri Lanka Chess Grand Prix 2017 will be held from 17th to 23rd of November 2017 in Colombo. This is one of the leading Chess Events in Sri Lanka where only 12 top players participate in the round Robin basis. The Chess Federation of Sri Lanka is offering cash award of RS. 115,000/= , Medals and Trophies for the winners.
(Rs. 50,000/=, Rs. 30,000/=, Rs. 20,000/=, Rs. 10,000/= and Rs. 5,000/=)

Chess players with following performance this year are eligible:

1. International Chess Masters and Women International Chess Masters with ( IM more than 2200 and WIM more than 2000 Rating.) Foriegn IMs are allowed. (Maximum 3 players)
2. Top 5 players in the Sri Lanka National Chess Championship 2017
3. The Women's National Chess Champion 2017
4. The Junior National Chess Champion 2017 (Under 20 years)
5. Top five players in the International Rating List of November 2017
6. Two players with highest performance from the International Rating Chess Tournaments held so far. (Earlier points system is used to rank, Champion get 10, Runner up 9, Third 8 till no 10 get 1)) (Instead of points system Should win at least one event and placed in top three in another./ Played at least 8 event out of ;last 11 and placed in top 10 in at least 5 events.)
7. Wild Card Entries

Those who are interested to get Wild Card Entries should make a request to this Email with thier FIDE ID, Highest rating achieved ever, and performances to declare. Theses entries are allowed on the first come first serve Basis.

Entry Fee - Rs. 2,500/=
                   Rs. 10,000/= per Wild Card.

4th Sri Lanka Senior National Chess Championships 2017

This event also will be held at the same time at the same venue. The event is for the Chess players who are more than 50 years of age by 1st January 2017. A cash award of Rs. 26,000/= is offered with medals and Trophies for the event which is conducted by the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka.

(Rs. 10,000/-, Rs. 7,000/- Rs. 3,000/= Special Prizes - Rs. 3,000/= )

There will be 2 special prizes for the best senior women and the Best player above 65 years.
